InLight OSL System and Technologies

The InLight system measures radiation exposure using alumina (Al2O3: C) detectors using Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) technology. The readout process uses an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate the detectors, and the light emitted by the OSL material is detected and measured by a photomultiplier tube (PMT) using a highly sensitive photon-counting system. The amount of light emitted during optical stimulation is directly proportional to the radiation dose and the intensity of the stimulated light. A dose calculation algorithm is applied to the measurement to determine exposure results.
